About us
Our principal organiser is Christine
Wilson,
who has been organising a variety of cultural activities in Barcelona
since 2001. She will be your main contact via email throughout
your Programme, and will send you full details of the venues,
dates and times when your enrolment has been processed.
Christine’s background includes the Fine Arts and the
arts and crafts movement. She has a degree in Art History and
Philosophy, and started her artistic career with an apprenticeship
in Stained Glass. She pursued this art and craft from the age
of 21, eventually running her own studio and working to commission.
She also paints in watercolour and has had numerous exhibitions
in Europe.
She has taught art and stained glass for many years, and in
Barcelona began to teach English in 2001. The combination of
this teaching with her creative interests led to the development
of the concept of the English Cultural Programme. Her professional
contacts, friends and colleagues in the art world were her inspiration
to form the Programme. Christine began running cultural events
for several organisations, and eventually the English
Cultural Programme was born.
Our artists, musicians, writers and dancers are based in Barcelona
and are usually here for two or three years as part of their
career progress. Some are associated with the Liceu, the University,
or other institutions, some are independent artists and make
up part of the rich cultural fringe that Barcelona offers.
